Free allocation is a method of allocating purchases to sales that allows for partial allocation of material from a location without subdividing. This makes it much easier to sell in small quantities. It also makes it a simple process to add, remove, or adjust existing allocations.

Free allocation is the precursor step to the [[cats:features:traffic:delivery|Traffic Delivery System]].
