===== Traffic Operational Status ===== Each traffic screen has a two character location code (AF/WH/etc) that describes the overall status of the material on that screen. A second pair of characters can serve to refine the traffic status even further. Optionally, the second pair of characters can be used as a coded field that drives the data-entry workflow for that traffic screen. ==== Setting Up the Operational Status Codes ==== File > Codes & Terms > Other Codes > Traffic Status Name Order Loc LocAllow ==== Approval Terms ==== The traffic operational status can be tied to the approval terms entered on the contract. Whenever a new contract item or traffic screen is added to the item its status will reflect the approval terms. ==== Contract Terms ==== The traffic operational status can be tied to the contract terms entered on the contract. Assuming the traffic status is not set by the approval terms, then the contract terms setting will be applied to all new traffic screens for that contract. ==== Workflow ==== Traffic screen data-entry workflow. CATS can use various data-entry cues to provide the traffic department workflow guidance and data-entry verification. When a user views the traffic screen CATS will consider the traffic status and prompt the user for any required information for that status. If all the required information has been entered, CATS will display the next operational stage for that traffic screen and the requirements to advance to that stage. ==== Workflow Triggers & Tests ==== In addition to prompting the user with the status progression, CATS will also advance the traffic status as the conditions are met. Traffic status progression and the underlying requirements are configurable to match your company's preferred workflow. The triggers for advancing the operational status can be the entry of a particular traffic field (or set of fields), the creation of a traffic document, or selecting the traffic screen for a purchase or sale invoice, or any combination of those things. Setup and customization of the triggers and tests requires customization from New Data Systems.
