====== Individual Sampling Notes ====== The Sample Session module is designed to enable cuppers to quickly register their notes for one or more recent samples. Users can give a sample their approval during their session and additionally enter a brief note. These approvals and notes can then be reviewed in the Batch Sample Approval module, showing up to three cupper responses at once in to approve or reject the overall sample. ===== Sample Session ===== The sample session interface is designed to be used on touch-enabled devices. It can be accessed via the main menu by selecting **Traffic > Sampling > Sample Session (Notes)** Users can move quickly through their pending samples and register their quick reaction to each sample as it is tested or cupped. By default, only samples that do not have an overall approved/rejected status will be displayed. [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251011-000027.png|The sample session module. Showing four sample entries on one page.}}] The sample session will display as many samples will fit on the page. If more samples are listed, use the "Previous" and "Next" navigation buttons at the top right. Use the quick filter options at the top to quickly find specific samples. ==== Sample Session Menu ==== * **List Samples** \\ Show all currently displayed samples in a list format. \\ [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251011-012453.png|The list of samples}}] * **Filter** \\ Filter the displayed samples and change the display order. \\ [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251010-195738.png|The sample session filter dialog}}] * **Switch User** \\ Switch the ID for the current user. This is useful if users are working on the same device (e.g. an iPad in the sampling room). * **Approvals** \\ Jump to the batch approval dialog for quick approval/rejections. * **Quick Texts** \\ Review and edit the quick notes that CATS will offer when the user selects approval or rejection status. ==== Adding Notes to Session Samples ==== Each sample in the list is displayed with the sample reference number, type, date, and delivery period. The associated purchase and sale contracts as well as the logistic details for the sample are displayed. Users can enter their notes in the text field. The date will update automatically. Alternatively, users can select the green check icon (for approval) or the red cancel icon (for rejection) and be prompted to pick from the quick texts for that respective category. Users can also pull up the quick texts selection by clicking on the "Quick Texts" link below the text field. [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251011-012304.png|An individual sample entry pending the user's note.}}] Selecting the green check or the red cancel icon does not change the overall approval status of the sample. It will only update the sample note for the current user to reflect your selection. Once a note has been entered, it can be cleared simply by clicking on the "Reset" link. [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251011-012238.png|A sample entry with a note entered. The "Reset" link appears in the top-right corner.}}] ==== Using Quick Texts ==== Quick texts allow a curated list of commonly used words or phrases. This is especially helpful when accessing CATS on a touch-screen device and also provides standardization across your sampling room. [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251011-013300.png|The quick texts dialog showing texts in the category "Approved"}}] Clicking on the "Quick Texts" or the green check or red cancel icons will bring up the quick texts interface. Clicking on a word or phrase will append that text to the sample note text field. Clicking on a tab will switch to that category. Multiple quick texts can be added at the same time by clicking them each in turn. CATS will not duplicate a phrase that is already present in the text. Clicking on "Undo" will remove the last added phrase or word. Users can click on "Undo" to remove as many entries as have been added. Clicking on "Clear" will clear all the text from the note field. Clicking on "Undo" will also revert the effects of clicking on "Clear" When finished. Click anywhere on the screen off the quick texts dialog or press ESC. ===== Batch Approval ===== The batch approval screen allows users to quickly approve or reject multiple samples at a time. Users can access the batch approval from the main menu by going to **Traffic > Sampling > Batch Approval**. [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251013-150242.png|Batch approval screen showing recent samples with notes from two users}}] The filters on the top of the form allow users to find and select specific records. Change the filters and then click on **Update List** to refresh the listing. [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251013-151645.png|The batch sample approval dialog showing the **Update List** button.}}] Sample notes from up to three different IDs can be displayed at one time on the form. The default list of IDs to use is set in the Traffic Settings dialog, but can be modified here. [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251013-151730.png|The Sample Session Notes section of the filters allows users to change which user's notes are shown.}}] The approval status of each individual sample can be changed by clicking on the "Status" column for that record and selecting between "Approved", "Rejected" or "Pending". [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251013-153113.png|Choosing the approval status for an individual sample record.}}] Use the checkbox on the left column of the grid and with the **Approve Selected** or **Reject Selected** buttons to approve multiple samples at once. Changing the filter can mean that some samples that are to be approved or rejected will no be visible. To see all the changes made during the current session, click on the **Show** link at the bottom of the screen. [{{:cats:procedures:sampling:pasted:20251013-151554.png|The change summary showing 4 changes and the "Show" link.}}] Records that have changed will still be affected when the user selects **Apply** even if they aren't visible. Once all the changes have been made as needed, click on **Apply** to update the sampling records. The batch sample approval form will automatically save and restore the current user's filter options between sessions. ===== Sample Reporting ===== All the sample session notes are displayed on the sampling screen for the corresponding record.
