CATS 2412 - Release Notes

June 2024.

This release incorporates a brand new report type: the Invoice Interest Report which makes calculating late fee charges a snap. It also includes several quality of life improvements.

[NEW] Invoice Interest Report
A new report is available to calculate interest for late payments that incorporates partial payments and interest roll-up receivables. Interest rates can be set across the whole company or for individual counter-parties. The Invoice Interest report is also incorporated into the past-due notification tool.

[NEW] Invoice Surcharges
Surcharges are a new type of entry that can be added to invoices. When added to an invoice, the surcharge applies to the inventory elements above it on the item list.

[NEW] Automatic “Carry” Invoice Items
With the addition of surcharges, comes the ability for CATS to automatically calculate the carrying costs and add that entry to the sale invoice.

[NEW] Contract Flags attached to Grade/Descriptions
Individual grade/description codes can now be set to prompt for Contract Flags during contract creation. In addition, grade/description codes can have flags associated with them so that they will automatically attach to the specified contract.

[IMPROVEMENT] Past Due Notification Overhaul
The past-due notification service now incorporates the new invoice interest reporting tool to generate more accurate and comprehensive notifications. Provides spreadsheet summary of all notices sent.

[IMPROVEMENT] Location Screen Label Customization
Companies can configure the traffic location screen to change the default labels for the Customs Release date, Warehouse release date, House B/L, Stuffing, and Feeder Vessels.

[IMPROVEMENT] New Location Fields
A new free-entry field for Booking Number and a coded field for B/L Type have been added to the location screen.

[IMPROVEMENT] Inactivate Approval Terms
Users can now set Approval terms as “Inactive” to remove them from the selection list.

[IMPROVEMENT] Default Credit Limit as Zero
A new system setting changes how CATS treats a zero credit-limit. Rather than disabling the credit limit checks, with this new setting enabled a credit limit of zero will be treated as zero credit.

[IMPROVEMENT] Discharge Port on Shipping Instruction
CATS will now pull the discharge port from the attached location screen and display that information on Shipping Instruction and Shipping Advice documents.

[NEW] Option for a Credit Limit of Zero
A new system setting makes CATS use a zero credit limit for companies that have no credit limit set.
