This is a list of the coded fields in CATS. These fields can be customized per CATS instance to reflect each client's specific business practices.

Codes are generally alphanumeric (accepting numbers and uppercase letters). And the length of the code field (in characters) is listed for each code type.

• Cost Codes
  • General Cost Codes: (3) list of types of expenses tracked in the system.
  • Origin/Country: (10) country of origin
  • Destination: (10) shipping destinations (e.g. city name)
  • Carrier: (16) shipment carriers (you can also use the counterparty list)
  • Port: (10) shipping ports
  • Tax: (5) taxes
  • Basis: (10) various measures for costing
  • Marine Insurance Percentage
  • Region: (10) the region of a city, port, or warehouse (e.g. North America, Europe, etc.)
  • Crop Year: (4) crop year for material valuation (e.g. 15/16)
• Product Codes
  • Product Codes: (5) overall classification of material (e.g. Coffee, Cocoa, Meats, Rubber, etc.)
  • Category Codes: (3) sub-classification of products
  • Sub-Category Codes: (5) additional sub-classification of category
  • Grade Description Codes: (6-20) type-specific classification of individual material (for valuation and identification).
• Terms
  • Shipment Terms: (8) shipment terms for the contract (e.g. FOB, FCA, CIF etc.)
  • Payment Terms: (8) payment terms for the contract (e.g. CAD, Net10, etc.)
  • Weighing Terms: (5) weighing terms for the contract
  • Bill of Lading Terms: (10) bill of lading terms for the contract
  • Trader: (3) Trader identifier
• Other Traffic Terms
  • Vessel: (7-10) list of ships used
  • Voyage: (6) identify a specific trip for a single vessel
  • Pier: (7) list of piers used
  • Warehouse: (7-10) list of warehouses used
  • Documents: (7) Document terms for the contract
  • Packing: (7) Packing terms for the contract
  • Location: (2) Traffic position code (e.g. WH, AF, etc.)
  • FDA Registration: (11) list of FDA registration numbers tied to counterparties
  • Title Holder: (8) title holder
  • Quality: (7) traffic quality
• Exchange Trades
  • Exchange: (3) list of trading market (e.g. ICE, LIF)
  • Exchange Product: (5) list of products tied to markets
  • Exchange Broker: (3) futures brokers used.
• Accounting
  • Counterparty Type: (3) list of types of counterparties
  • Counterparty: (7-10) list of counterparties (e.g. growers, shippers, customers, banks, vendors, etc.)
  • Invoice Type: (12) list of invoice types (e.g. provisional sale, provisional purchase, weight adjustment, etc.)
  • General Ledger Account: (5) for the general ledger chart of accounts
